There are currently no vacancies in the practice but a training place for a GP Registrar will become available in August 2007.
Riverview Practice wishes to provide an holistic learning environment for registrars and as such it is important that the registrar is contented in this area and able to communicate well with the whole team as well as the patients.
The ideal registrar will have the following characteristics:

| A commitment to self-directed learning both during the time spent in the practice and also for the rest of his/her medical career | |
| An enthusiasm for the area in Wick and immediate surroundings | |
| A respect for all members of the primary care team irrespective of skills, race or sex | |
| An ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively at any level within that team, both written and verbal | |
| A commitment to the GMC guidance for doctors and GPs in particular | |
| Respect for patients and a commitment to put their needs first | |
| An ability to prioritise during the working ay and to keep a healthy work/life balance | |
| Some knowledge of the skills to be developed in the registrar year | |
| Personality traits that would fit in well with the existing team | |
| Some experience of paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology | |
| Has a learning style that is likely to be compatible with the methods of training used in this practice to ensure maximum benefit to the registrar | |
| Commit to one year in this practice rather than 6 months. |
