Qualified in 1991 from Edinburgh University. While studying medicine she also gained a BSc (hons) in genetics. Dr Cobb completed her GP training in the Highlands gaining further qualifications in Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Family Planning and also Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners. She joined the practice in 1995. She also carries out appraisals on GPs in the Highlands and has interests in family planning, child health and GP training.
Qualified in 1977 from Edinburgh University. Has Worked in Southern Africa, Holland and latterly as a GP in Norway where she trained as a Specialist GP. Works as Clinical Assistant in Chest Medicine and is interested in Psychiatry and teenage related problems.
Dr Sarah Rootes MBBS BSc MRCGP
Trained in St George's Medical School London. Dr Rootes graduated in 1996 and worked in hospitals in South London before completing her training in Wick. Dr Rootes became a partner in 2005. She has a special interest in paediatrics.
Qualified from Manchester University in 2001 and completed GP training in the Lake District. Dr Hillhouse worked for two years in Thurso prior to joining the practice and has an interest in family planning.
Qualified from University of Dundee in 2006. Dr Platten completed a year with us as a registrar and we were delighted that he decided to join the practice in August 2011.
Joined the Practice in 1999. Since joining the practice she has gained a diploma in diabetic care and also attended training on managing minor illnesses, contraception and women’s health. She runs the diabetic clinic in the practice and sees and assesses patients requiring urgent treatment under supervision of the GPs.
Joined the Practice in 2001. She has specialist training in asthma, diabetes, cervical cytology and breast screening. She has a special interest in respiratory care and provides a wide range of nursing services.
Eleanor joined the practice in June 2007. She is available for general nursing care, for example ear syringing, eye washing, blood pressures, blood tests, immunisations and vaccinations.
